The purpose of the fellowships is to promote exchanges between European Laboratories and Clinical Services.

As a result of those exchanges, new technologies may be learned and, whenever possible, lasting partnerships may be developped.

Yearly since 1993, the Foundation's Scientific Board has been reviewing candidate applications and allocating the following fellowships:

* One fellowship of 18000
* Four Fellowships of 4500
